We often wonder about the kind of equipment our plumber uses when he is on his work. He has all kinds of different objects and tools which are made from lead, metal and copper. Some of the tools contain a little wood for handles and attachments. But what are the actual tools?
A plumber usually keeps his tools hidden from the people. The reason might be the amazement normal people show when they look at the kind of tools plumbers work with. Apart from tools, there is certain plumbing equipment installed inside walls or underground for smooth running of water. Check them out:
• Water meters: these are not actually carried by the plumber. They are hidden underground, in the basement or inside a wall. When a house or office building is built, this meter is installed inside to measure the volume of water flowing in the pipe lines of the house. This helps the plumber decide whether the water flow should be controlled, it is over-flowing or not reaching the required capacity.
• Water filters: these are for the filtration process of water. The water that has to flow through the taps and boilers is supposed to pass through filters. When the taps pour dirty water, it is usually due to the filtration system not working properly. A plumber knows how to fix it!
• Heat control systems: some of the houses have heat control systems in their basements or other places from where the temperature of the water can be controlled. So whatever temperature you set it at, the water will pour out from taps accordingly.
• Water softeners: we have often heard the term “hard water”. Hard water basically contains a high amount of basic or acidic ions which make it unfit for use. Therefore, water softeners are installed by plumber in houses for use softening of water and using it for daily routine.
