Immersion Water Heating

Using an electric immersion heater can be a very cost effective and also very energy efficient way of producing hot water for the home. It can be used all year or just in the warmer months when the main heating is off. The immersion heater is made up of an electrical heating element contained within a very large cylinder and then is filled with water. It will thrive at temperatures between 20°C (68°F) and 50°C (122°F). However high temperatures like 60°C (140°F) and over will kill the bacteria. The best idea is to store the water at 60°C and keep the temperature well regulated.
