How to install a tap

  1. Before installing the tap, read first the instructions for the installation. Most directions begin with how to install the gasket at the bottom of the tap. Some would actually require for some plumber’s putty. Afterwards, put the tap in the mounting holes and tighten the nuts.

  2. Since not all faucets are preassembled, there are cases that you need to attach the handles. It is just easy to do. In order to do this, you must slide the guide ring into the bottom part of the handle, put it at the faucet base and then secure with setscrew.

  3. Next is to move into the drain. Bolt the nut down to the body and then push the gasket towards it. But some can be screwed into place.

  4. Apply some plumber’s putty in the flange then put the drain body at the bottom part of the sink but make sure that the pivot hole facing the back part then screws the flange.

  5. Then, tighten the gasket and the nut.

  6. Next would be install drain rod. Remove the screw of the pivot nut in the drain body then insert the rod towards the hole on the stopper then replace the nut. You can now push the rod down and then screw the lift rod towards the strap.

  7. Reconnect now the water supply to the tap. Then test the tap.

  8. Remove the aerator by flushing the tap to remove debris or other sediments in the tap. Then start checking if the new installed tap is working.
