Having a blocked sink is one of the common problems in the kitchen. For others that own a garbage disposal they don’t bother to clear up the food scraps on their dishes but at one point the scraps can still be bothersome. A blocked sink can flood up not only your kitchen sink but the whole kitchen too. You have to fix it up or have it fixed up right away because the stagnant water can cause illness to your family. Call London Plumbers to fix it up for you but if you’re up for the job you can fix it up yourself.

  1. Clear the sink. Make sure that there’s no more food scraps on the drain. Also wipe off the grease around the sinks.

  2. Make a mixture of baking soda and vinegar and pour it down the sink. Let it set for at least 2 hours.

  3. Pour hot water on the sink.

  4. After an hour run sink with running tap. If it still doesn’t drain properly. Make sure no more residue of the baking soda and vinegar mixture is left.

  5. Pour some bleach on the drain and let it set for the whole night and rinse it off with tap the following morning.

Usually this will do the work, if you’re just dealing with jammed food scraps on the pipes but if you’re dealing with something more unpleasantly stiff like a chicken bone, you can use a plunger. If that still doesn’t work you really have to call London Plumbers to have it fixed for you. Probably something stiff is sticking out deep down your pipe line.

Always remember to remove food scraps from your dishes before piling them on the sink to avoid all the inconvenience that a blocked sink will cause and all the unpleasant work.
