Replacing a showerhead is easy to do because you just simply remove the old one and then install another using the manual’s guide provided by the manufacturer. In this article, we are going to show how to replace different kinds of showerheads namely the fixed-mount with hand-held, hand-held only and fixed-mount showerhead. The only reminder in doing this is to be extra careful in removing the screws to avoid damages in the showerhead itself as well as to the walls. Below are the steps in replacing the showerhead per type:
For fixed-mount showerhead

Screw the showerhead replacement into the shower arm clockwise and then tighten it using your hand.

Test the showerhead for leaks by turning the water on.

If the showerhead exhibits leaks, gently tighten the showerhead up until there would be no leaks anymore or you may also remove the showerhead then put Teflon tape in it.
For the hand-held showerhead

Similarly as fixed mount, screw the showerhead replacement into the shower arm clockwise and then hand-tighten.

Connect flexible shower hose into the mount and into the hand-held shower. Then hand-tighten the connections.

Place the new showerhead into the mount.

To test if there are leaks in the showerhead, switch on the water.

If there are leaks, try to tighten the connections or you may just remove the showerhead and then put Teflon tape in it.
For the fixed-mount with hand-held type of shower

First thing to do is to attach the diverter which routes the water into the shower head to the shower arm then tighten it using your hands.

Attached the fixed-mount showerhead into the end of the diverter clockwise and then tighten it again.

Attach the hand-held mount into the shower. Strictly follow the manufacturer’s guide.

Connect the diverter into the flexible shower hose and to the hand-held unit. Securely tighten the connections.

Attach the hand-help unit into the mount.

Test the showerhead for leaks. Tighten the connections if there is or simply put additional Teflon tape to it.
